Thinking about travelling in Italy or taking your holidays or a vacation in Italy. Then you will need to know what to expect from the weather. The Weather In shows you what it’s like now and what the climate is usually like in many regions across … The Weather In also tells you about great events and activities to see whilst you are visiting whether you are there in Summer, Autumn, Winter or Spring.
The climate in Italy varies considerably from the north to the south of the country.
In the north of Italy – the area between the Alps and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines have very cold winters and very hot and particularly humid summers.
In central Italy the climate is milder, with a smaller difference in temperature between summer and winter and a shorter and less intense cold season than in the north; summers are longer, but the sultriness that is experienced in the northern cities is mitigated somewhat by the Mediterranean Sea giving the central region a more comfortable summer.
In southern Italy on the coast and the islands, winters are seldom harsh, and summer is warm to hot. The climate is Mediterranean so winter is never to cold nor summer…too hot.
